Brian Jin (金杰声) 2019-11-05发行
"We Should Talk" is Brian Jin's first release made available in China. The album took over three years to write and record. The sessions spanned from Las Cruces, New Mexico to Saint Louis, Missouri to Ningbo, Zhejiang, China.
Brian Jin handles all the vocals, as well as guitars, mandolin, harmonica, and a rare standing bowl. 王乐汀 (Billdisc) joins in with his synthesizers and beats on a couple tracks. Katie Benoit plays keyboards and povides harmony vocals. Alan Meyer adds additional keyboards, bass, and percussion. Barley Station's Randy Wayne Belt adds his harmony vocals as well.
The album opens with a quiet, short, introspective ballad called, "Truth Be Told." It is the resignation of a man accepting where he has found himself in life, but is happy to think back on his past, no matter how painful the memory. "Make Some Noise" is a foray into the clubs of Ningbo where two people dare each other to make the first move. "Violet" continues with electronic fashion, but finds a way to create an EDM waltz, with Brian adding additional harmonica. "This Morning After," finds a man and woman who should not have met trying to decide if they regret it, the sound of falling rain adds to the swaying acoustic guitar. "We Should Talk," is an aggressive folk number that finds a child abuse survivor prosecuting his abuser. The album is meant to be heard ad a whole piece of work, but individual songs in playlists will not disappoint either. We present Brian Jin's WE SHOULD TALK.
