About “Songs from the Jar” album:
“Songs from the Jar” is band’s two year retrospective covering selected singles released from all four official albums. Some of them are released in special versions and some in regular ones. There are songs belonging to new wave and new romantic styles like: “Close That Door”, “Crime Story”, “Friday Night” and “B Song (WW Remix)”, those on grungy side “Too Many”, “Wuss” and “Decent Obligation” and songs that could be described as pure rock like “Tinder Girl”, “Snake Doctor”, “A Song” or “Jeff Johnson Spoke”. There are also several collabs including those with Christine Corless and Catlea to name a couple. All of those songs charted and many of them reached number one on various charts worldwide (Poland, the UK, the US, Peru, Ecuador, Australia and Colombia) and on a few continents. Some of them like “Close That Door” spent many weeks at no. 1 at FM radio stations charts. Songs from albums “Obligation”, “Joy Free Bowl”, “Mellow Joy” and double on “Four and a half” were mixed and mastered by many famous producers including - Joe Gibb, well known for working with such bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Kinks, Jane’s Addiction, Stone Roses and The Mission (mixing) and Kevin Paul, who also worked with Depeche Mode, the Kinks, Yazoo, Erasure and David Bowie (mastering). Other songs were done by Christ Bolster at Abbey Road Studios (mixing), Andy “Hippy” Baldwin at Metropolis Studios in London (mastering), Tom Queyja at The Lip Studio in LA (mixing and mastering) and by Dawid Gorgolewski at Osso Studio in Gdansk, PL (mixing and mastering). All of those songs received heavy radio airplay both in Poland and worldwide. We hope that this selection will give a true taste of Snakedoctors music - described in many international reviews, including in largest music magazine in Poland “Teraz Rock (Rock Now)” as a Snakedoctors style being a special blend of grunge and new wave.
