Eloquence
While composing this piece, Bonnie was inspired by moments of happiness and joy in her life. It is the representation of moving eloquently from one opportunity or situation to the next with graceful momentum, in spite of the direction. Bonnie wrote the piano melody first which was recorded on the beautiful Bosendorfer piano at the St. Pauls' Centre in Orillia, Ontario by Recording Engineer and Producer, Nixon Boyd.
Musically, the transitions in timing from eighth notes to triplets to swing felt phrases creates a push-pull feeling throughout this piece. The cello, played by Alyssa Wright and flute, played by Dawn Ellis, provide counter melodies that create soulful harmony and airy brightness, for the listener. The percussion, played by Dave Hewitt, exemplifies the varying rhythms, yet keeps the flow of the piece steady and balanced. The percussion emerges and retreats, creating depth and elevation when heard. The cymbal washes swell and support the crescendos splendidly.
