休闲音乐 (Leisure)

《休闲音乐》是来自中国广州的独立音乐人「drifteque」的第一张个人EP，包含4首器乐作品，创作于2025年春夏的中国香港。

「drifteque」是「drift」+「teque」的组合词。游走于独立流行、独立摇滚、器乐摇滚、爵士嘻哈乐、都市流行乐等音乐风格，drifteque的音乐有着悦耳的旋律、充满对话感的器乐编排和跳跃的律动设计。每一首乐曲都是一个个穿梭于光影都市的流浪灵魂，与漂浮在热闹空气中、不足以浓烈书写的都市情绪共振。

drifteque的创作灵感大多来自城市的吉光片羽：EP开篇曲《昏岸》发生在维多利亚港的黄昏，是橙黄色的时刻浪漫定格；《乔尼真酷》与城市律动共振，摇摆的节奏与眼花撩乱的器乐演奏刺激对撞；香港的南亚风情在《神游》留下印记，西洋与异域，放克鼓点与吉他旋律正在对话；最后，《晃荡的蓝调》的故事发生在凌晨的皇后大道中，红绿灯在催促，一声叹息，是否意味着与这个城市的缘分正慢慢走向尽头？

EP《休闲音乐》由「drifteque」独立完成作曲、编曲、混音和母带，歌曲《晃荡的蓝调》的小号和长笛分别由「Donald Kepple」和「陈梓筠」演奏。

Leisure is the debut EP by drifteque, an independent musician from Guangzhou, China. It features four instrumental pieces written and recorded in Hong Kong during the spring and summer of 2025.

The name drifteque combines “drift” and “teque.” Moving seamlessly across Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Instrumental Rock, Jazz Hip-Hop, and City Pop, drifteque’s music is distinguished by captivating melodies, conversational instrumental arrangements, and dynamic grooves. Each track embodies a wandering soul drifting through the city’s light and shadow, resonating with fleeting urban emotions that words cannot fully capture.

Much of drifteque’s inspiration comes from fragments of city life. The opening track, Twilight Shore, captures the romance of Victoria Harbor at sunset in soft orange hues. Johnny Be Cool pulses with the city’s rhythm, where swinging beats collide with dazzling instrumental layers. The South Asian atmosphere of Hong Kong leaves its mark on Absent-minded, a dialogue between Western and exotic sounds, funk beats, and guitar melodies. Finally, Swinging Blues unfolds in the midnight Queen’s Road Central—traffic lights urging forward, a sigh escaping, as if hinting that the bond with the city is slowly drawing to a close.

The EP Leisure was independently composed, arranged, mixed, and mastered by drifteque. The trumpet and flute lines in Swinging Blues were performed by Donald Kepple and Zijun Chen, respectively.
