Little Gerhard, stage name of Karl-Gerhard Lundkvist, born 17 May 1934 in Tillberga outside Västerås , is a Swedish rock singer , who had big hits from 1958 to mid-1960s with, among others, Buona Sera , What You've Done to Me and last of the Mohicans .
At a young age he went to sea as a seaman , and did in connection with this debut in 1952 in Amsterdam at Night Club Trocadero. He played at the time, accordion and guitar . After having signed as a sailor, he moved to Stockholm , where he was through amateur competitions in the mid-1950s, had success as a rock singer. The first time he appeared with his own band was at Nalen , New Year's Eve 1957th Through the show he got a record deal at the company's Carousel , and he debuted in early 1958 with the EP : n Little Gerhard. The song What You've Done To Me on the record became his breakthrough. Already in March the same year he was named as the "Swedish rock king" and in August the same year to " Nordic Rock king ". [2] He also made her film debut in 1958 in The Turn of the castle .
His third EP, released in June 1958, became the best-selling 1950s album in Swedish rock'n'roll, and Little Gerhard's first gold record . It was his estimated cover of Louis Prima Buona Sera was the reason for our success.
Little Gerhard's backing band in the summer tour in 1958 and the next five years called The G-men, and featured several musicians who went on to other successful careers.
